Las Catalinas is on its way to becoming one of the most enjoyable Beach Towns in Costa Rica. As a growing community, we have new exciting projects underway that will continue to add amenities, activities, and rental and ownership options to our guests and future neighbors. We make great efforts to minimize any possible disturbances due to construction but we cannot, however, guarantee that no activity will be visible or audible due to the variable nature of construction. While we are hopeful that this will have little impact on your stay with us, unfortunately, we will not be able to provide room changes, discounts, or refunds due to construction at this time. Construction hours are as follows:
6am -7.30am: Construction may begin with workers required to speak in low voices and no power tools are allowed.
7.30am - 6pm: Normal construction.
6pm - 9pm: Construction may continue, with workers required to speak in low voices and no power tools are allowed.
For reservations made with stay dates from today - December 15:
- 1 night charged at booking
- The remaining payment is due 30 days prior to check-in
For reservations made from December 16 - January 7:
- 1 night charged at booking
- The remaining payment is due 90 days prior to check-in
No Shows: Subject to forfeiture of full payment.
Service Fee: $10/room/night
Relocation: In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Hotel may assign accommodations at Las Catalinas residences, and immediately notify the guest.
For reservations with stay dates from today - December 15:
- No penalty for cancellation up to 30 days prior to check-in
- 100% charge for cancellations made 29 days or less prior to check-in
For reservations with stay dates from December 16 - January 7:
- No penalty for cancellations up to 90 days prior to check-in
- 100% charge for cancellations made 89 days or less prior to check-in
Terms and Conditions
The Beach Club access has a cost of $15 per person per day per guest. The charge would be added to the Guests bill which they can be paid at the end of their stay. (This cost is included in Baranda and Bon Vivant homes, and Posada San Rafael rooms)
Access will be granted only to guests registered as staying at Las Catalinas as the Beach Club is a private facility for renters and members only
Beach Club facility access is available from 6:00am – 7:00pm
Service fee: In an attempt to simplify things for guests, who hail from all across the world, we have applied a service fee of $10 per bedroom per night. This helps eliminate any confusion for our guests, who come from a variety of cultures with different tipping customs.
“Guest” is responsible for any damages to the Room or Premises or any furniture, fixtures, furnishings of the room.
Neither “Company” nor Homeowner shall be responsible for any damage to “Guest’s” personal property and belongings that are maintained on the Premises.
“Guest” needs to notify the Management Office of any such damages.
A quote would be made and if any such damages exceed the Security Deposit amount, “Guest” shall be responsible for prompt payment of any such excess damages
“Company” shall have the right to collect excess damages by billing “Guest’s” credit card or billing “Guest” directly.
A minimum of $500 per room will be charged for any unreported damages
Smoking is not allowed at Posada San Rafael. We reserve the right to terminate any rental, without refund, if smoking occurs at any room or area and charge an additional $500.00 fee as penalty.
Las Catalinas is a smoke free town. Smoking is not allowed in Town. We reserve the right to terminate any rental, without refund, if smoking occurs at any area of Town, and charge an additional $500.00 fee as penalty.
“Company” is not responsible for providing any additional furnishings or appliances not presently in the Room.
“Guest” may not remove any of the furniture or furnishings from the Room, nor place interior furniture or furnishings on the porches or lawns where such furniture or furnishings would be subject to unusual wear and tear.
Check-In / Check-Out:

Late check-out fee of 50% nightly rate applies for both requested and non-requested check-outs between 10am and up to 6pm
“Company” and/or Owner does not assume any liability for loss, damage or injury to persons or their personal property, nor do we accept liability for any inconvenience arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, electricity or plumbing. “Company” and/or Owner will also not accept liability for any loss or damage caused by weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of God, or other events beyond our control.
“Guest” hereby acknowledges that he/she is fully aware that the terraces, beach, pool, public sidewalks, and surrounding patio can be dangerous, that floors and stairs both inside and outside can be slippery when wet, and that injury is likely to occur to anyone who is not careful. With full knowledge of the above facts and warnings, “Guest” accepts and assumes all risks involved in or related to the use of terrace, beach, pool, public sidewalks, patio, stairways and other indoor and outdoor areas.
“Guest” acknowledges that the Posada San Rafael is a private residence, currently owned by a third party.
“Guest” agrees not to enter or to force open any locked closets or rooms in the Home which are reserved by Owner for his personal use. Since the Home is ruled by an HOA,
“Guest” agrees to abide by such rules and regulations, including but not limited to noise ordinances. “Guest” acknowledges that neither the Owner nor “Company” has any control over construction in the residential community, and therefore is not liable for construction noise and activity.
Noise Policy and Quiet Hours:
In order to preserve the natural harmony of the environment and town, guests shall behave in a way that respects the need for peace and quiet of their neighbors at all times. Similarly, guests recognize that audible sounds from neighboring properties are inevitable, and will respect neighbors' rights to normal play, conversation, music, etc. The hours between 10pm and 7am are designated as "Quiet Hours" in Las Catalinas. During these hours, amplified music or video that is audible outside of private houses or hotel rooms is not allowed, conversations in exterior and/or public areas should be conducted in quiet voices, and in general any activities that are loud or may reasonably intrude on neighbor's ability to enjoy a peaceful sleep are prohibited. We reserve the right to terminate any hotel reservation, without refund, for violation of the noise policy and quiet hours and charge an additional $500 fee as penalty.
In an effort to preserve and protect nature, all guests will comply with a no litter policy for all public and private areas in Las Catalinas. We reserve the right to terminate any rental, without refund, for violation of the Environmental Policy and charge an additional $500 fee as penalty.
Upon booking, all guests on the reservation will be registered as prospective real estate purchasers with Desarrollo Catalinas DCL Verde, Limitada, (DCL) a duly certified Brokerage Team intending to promote and sell properties in the Las Catalinas community.
